Striking coastlines from Dorset to the caribbean have influenced the successful develpoment of Vicky Finding’s exotic works bursting with colour, emotion & orchestrated movement. Subjects are absorbed from fleeting moments that demand to be painted, & the finished works have an hypnotic intensity that confine the viewers gaze & offer a glimpse into a private world. Living so close to the ‘Jurassic’ coastline of Dorset, Vicky is able to immerse herself into the unpredictable turbulance that the elements disclose on regular trips to the cliffs & beaches. As well as drawing inspiration from these dramatic moments, she has been able to benefit from annual sailing adventures from the mediterranean to the West Indies & Indonesia, that have not only allowed her to soak up the intense colours & transformations in land & seascapes, but also it has put her in direct confrontation with the awesome power of the elements versus the sailboat.
She has shown her work in many South West galleries & exhibitions from Dorset to St. Ives, and Bristol, Brighton & Edinburgh.
